At John Robert Builders, our number one priority is to know our client, what’s most important to them, their vision and plans for their project. JRB fully understands that both budget and schedule will always be ‘high priority’, but equally as important are the relationships that we forge with our clients. Concerns such as spotting architectural design problems and even structural concerns before the bid process, as well as making sure what’s been presented by the architect is exactly what they’re looking for artistically. In larger commercial projects, often the city or the town will be involved in that early process but with smaller commercial and residential projects, it’s left to ownership and the design team. Our 35 years of experience will walk you through each step resulting in a well planned and executed project.

How we proceed through a project is just as important to JRB as the preconstruction phase. Everything from job cleanliness and how we conduct ourselves daily, our interaction with our subcontractors, city officials, company personal and/or family members while exhibiting the highest quality of workmanship. When faced with last minute items, we work diligently to respect response times including all related costs so the owner can make an informed decision. We develop lifetime relationships working within our communities one successful project at a time!

Our Story

Jim Shea has been living his life’s passion of building for the last 40 years. As a master carpenter, Jim owned his own company for the better part of those years, but took an 8 year break working his way up to a Senior Superintendent in Boston, running jobs that value up to $65 million.

Dara Shea has been in the Management/HR side of the Retail world working closely with all aspects of customer service, personnel, and company projects.  Dara has a passion for interior and exterior design which she was able to hone in on during million dollar remodeling jobs for her current employer.  She brings to the company that passion for design, customer service, safety standards, and job moral. 

As a couple, Jim and Dara started this company to bring to every customer their combined work ethic and quality of workmanship needed to deliver each project on time and on budget.
